班级授课制的缺点有：(1)教学形式缺乏灵活性。班级授课制的课堂教学模式比较固定，容易形成课堂惯例、思维方式以及师生交往方式的固定化和程式化。如果教师不能经常打破常规，灵活地运用教学方法，会导致课堂教学失去对学生的吸引力。(2)不利于学生独立性与自主性的培养。班级授课制要求教师发挥其主导作用，要对全班学生负责，在班级和教学管理上就需要进行统一的控制和安排。这样的整齐划一的集体活动会在一定程度上忽视了学生个体发展的能动性，不利于独立性和自主性的培养。(3)不利于因材施教。班级授课制强调教学过程的标准、同步、统一，难以完全适应学生的个别差异，无法照顾学生个体不同的学习需求、情绪体验，不能很好地满足学生的个别需要，不利于因材施教。
