As shown in the picture, a student sits in front of a computer wondering what kind of course he should choose. One kind of course can be passed easily with high score and only contains small amount of homework, while the other kind of course is difficult but with brand new knowledge and an emphasis on creativity. However, I believe this picture is trying to point out a dilemma that most of the college students are facing right now－whether to chase high grades or to gain more knowledge and practicing opportunity.
It’s worth considering because the current situation forces us to chase a straight-A transcript to gain scholarship or even job opportunity. But we can’t neglect the fact that good grades doesn’t mean one has the matching abilities to support him to develop further. In fact, creativity is what modern society really needs nowadays, as we can learn from how new technology changes our life. Therefore, here we call for all the schools and companies to pay more attention to the standard of how to evaluate students, and taking measures to train more creative talents.
